ASIGNATURA PENDIENTE I: KILIMANJARO "LA MONTAÑA BLANCA"

Aquí hablaré de cosas que me quedaron pendientes y que algún día haré. Mi primera asignatura tiene 5.895 m, el Kilimanjaro. Aunque hay varias teorías sobre su etimología, hay una que dice que viene de las palabras en swahili kilima (montaña) y njaro en swahili antiguo(blanca o brillante). Los masai la llaman simplemente "Ngage ngai" que en kimasai significa "la casa de Dios".

La ascensión tiene 3 posibles rutas: la ruta marangu, la ruta machame y la umbwe. Se tarda 5 o 6 días en subir y se duerme en refugios, huts o tiendas.

Ya lo saben, !!Animense!! Eso sí, como se dice en swahili "Pole pole, tutafika" (despacito, llegaremos).

I would like to write about things that i couldn´t do and i´m sure i will do. My first "unfinished matter" is to climb Kilimanjaro. Although it is unknown where the name Kilimanjaro comes from, a theory says that comes from the words in swahili "kilima" (mountain) and njaro (white or shining). We will arrive to the summit in 5 or 6 days and remember the swahili sayin "Pole pole, tutafika" (Slowly we will arrive everywhere).

KHADJA NIN (SAMBOLERA MAYI SON)

En 1994 la milicia hutu interahamwe (los que matan juntos) realizaron la mayor masacre humana de los últimos tiempos contra tutsis y hutus moderados. El genocidio de Rwanda fue la consecuencia de un conflicto enquistado durante muchos años. Murieron 800.000 personas y muchas mujeres fueron violadas.

Cuando escucho esta canción de Khadja Nin, me imagino que esto es lo que le diría una madre explicándole a su hijo (sambolera) lo que ocurrió.

In 1994 the militia hutu interahamwe ("those who kill together") killed thousands of tutsis and hutu political moderates. The Rwandan genocide was the consecuence of ethnic tensions during a long period of time. About 800.000 people died and a lot of woman were raped.
When I hear this song of Khadja Nin, i imagine that it is what a mother would explain to her son/daughter (sambolera)when he asks for this war.
